Yeow Hwee Chua is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), where he is Deputy Director of the Economic Growth Centre and a Faculty Affiliate of the Global Institute of Finance, Technology, and Society (GIFTS). He is also serving as Honorary Secretary of the Economics Society of Singapore.

His research spans household finance, macroeconomic expectations, behavioral macroeconomics, and public economics. He examines how information and uncertainty shape expectations and financial decisions, as well as how households and financial institutions respond to economic shocks and public policy. Combining administrative data, experiments, and theoretical models, his work connects individual decisions to market outcomes and aggregate economic dynamics.

Prior to joining NTU, he was a Visiting Postdoctoral Scholar at Stanford Graduate School of Business. He received his PhD in Economics from the National University of Singapore and his MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a CFA charterholder.
