Yeow Hwee CHUA (蔡耀辉)
Yeow Hwee is an Assistant Professor in Economics at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU). He is also the Deputy Director of the Economic Growth Centre at NTU and the Honorary Secretary of the Economics Society of Singapore.
His research lies at the intersection of behavioral macroeconomics, household finance, and sustainable finance. He studies how information frictions and distorted beliefs influence household financial decisions and, in turn, propagate into systemic risks. Much of his work focuses on two global transitions where these dynamics are most pronounced: demographic change, which reshapes savings and risk-taking, and the green transition, where climate risks and sustainability policies alter incentives across markets.
Prior to his current appointment, he was a visiting Postdoctoral scholar at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He obtained his PhD in Economics from the National University of Singapore and Masters in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is a fellow of the Association Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA), and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.
